DAY AT THE DEL DUCA FARM
DATE: Saturday, October 14th
MEETING TIME: 8:30am Leave 9:00am
MEETING PLACE: Starbucks, 210 166th St. S., Spanaway
(corner of Pacific Highway and 166th)
FINAL DESTINATION: 707 E. Pe Ell Ave., Pe Ell
Don and Debbie DelDuca are the brother and sister-in-law of Dan and Fran DelDuca. Also, they are past members of the Olympic T-Bird Club and used to own a beautiful black ‘56 TBird. They have been car enthusiasts for many years and have owned and restored a number of collector cars and trucks. Don is a former machinist and Debbie a former school bus driver. As they approached their retirement years, they had a yearning to get away from it all. Thus, they purchased a hobby farm in Pe Ell. This farm has been a labor of love for them as they wacked their way through years of over growth, to a point where they could begin restoring the barn and outbuildings on their farm. They now have a collection of beautifully restored buildings that house Don’s wood shop and machine shop. At least for the time being, the collector cars have been replaced with old farm equipment , wagons and implements. Debbie’s pride and joy is her “museum” of items that you would find in an old farm store, a farm pantry or farm house kitchen. They love to give tours of their farm and often do so for school kids and other local groups. You will truly enjoy this step back in time.
We have also invited our friends from the Solid Axle Corvette Club to again join us on this driving and farm tour. We will meet at the Starbucks, 210 166th St. S., Spanaway (corner of Pacific Highway and 166th) at about 8:30 am for those wishing to get coffee and use the restroom facilities. This is quite a busy Starbucks location, but there is a parking area across 166th where we suggest meeting. It is about 75 miles to Pe Ell and will take us about 2 hours to get there on the scenic back roads, with the plan to arrive in Pe Ell at 11:00 AM. Please be sure to bring your chairs, as we are hoping for a nice fall day. After enjoying Don and Debbie’s hospitality, we will return a short distance to the town of Pe Ell for lunch at a local restaurant.
Following lunch you are free to return the way we came, hop on the freeway, or stay around and explore the area. For more information please contact Frank (206) 919-5773 or Cathy at (206)919-5807 or cfstubbs@msn.com.
So that we can give Don and Debbie, and the restaurant a tentative head count, please RSVP to the numbers above or to the OCTC website at:
