The Hydroplane and Boat Museum and Lunch
                       DATE:   Saturday Feb 18, 2012
                       PLACE: 5917 South 196th Street
                                     Kent, WA
                                     (206)764-9453
                       TIME:   11:00 am

The Hydroplane Museum was a popular club event several years ago, and they have added to and changed many of the exhibits over the years.  We can see the restored unlimited hydroplanes from the ‘50s and ‘60s as well as some of the newer turbine boats.  We can tour the artifacts and restoration shop and see how the workers produce such beautiful restorations. This should be a good indoor winter event.

We plan to be at the museum for about an hour and then go to lunch.  If you would rather be at the museum for a longer time, they open at 10:00.  If you think that an hour would be too long for you, then come later!

Cost is $5.00 per person.

DIRECTIONS:
            From I-5, use 188th Street Exit 152.
Go east on Orillia Road S.
Turn left onto South 200th Street which becomes Russell Road and then 196th Street.
The museum is on the right hand side of the curve to the right.

From Highway 167, use the South 212th exit and go west to the West Valley  Highway 181.
Turn right (north) on 181 and go to South 196th Street.
Turn left on South 196th Street.
The museum is on the left of  the left hand curve.

Lunch is planned for around noon at Billy Baroo’s where we had our Christmas party.  It’s familiar, easy to find, and they have ample easy parking.  To get there from the museum, go east on 196th to West Valley Highway 181.  Turn left (north) on 181.  After passing under I-405, the road name changes to Interurban Avenue South.  The restaurant is on Foster golf course on the right.

Please RSVP by Feb 16,2012 so we can give the museum and restaurant a count. Hope to see you there.
